Conversational Programming
Hurco perfected shop-floor programming

Hurco’s conversational control was revolutionary – the first of a kind – and it still hasn’t been duplicated.

The power of conversational programming is in its use of prompts and how it organizes the machining processes into useful data blocks, creates the desired part with precision and verifies the program with interactive graphics.

It sounds complicated, but the software makes it amazingly simple. For example, a part that needed 492 lines of offline generated G Code took only 18 lines (about 8 minutes worth of work) with Hurco’s shop-floor control.

Hurco's shop-floor software gives the operator the ability to write a new program even while the machine is cutting the current one (concurrent programming).

What makes Hurco's Conversational Programming unique?

  1. Based on almost 30 years of experience in designing and developing shop-floor based programming, no one matches the powerful yet simple to use programming data blocks. The statement "If you know that you have to drill a hole before you can tap it" sums up how easy the conversational control is to learn and use.
  2. Programming system is easy to use with its ergonomic design. Verification is both via graphics and syntax. Any program issues, such as missing data, are noted with an alarm message identifying the data block that requires change. If it draws the part, it's ready to go.
  3. Hurco conversational has full capabilities to optimize programs for most efficient run time. Data blocks, parameters and speeds and feeds can be optimized for each process step as needed. There's no need to sacrifice run-time efficiency for ease of programming.
