Hurco's UltiPocket adds special milling routines for machining pocket boundaries with islands when using Hurco's conversational programming. This powerful option provides complete clean-out of odd-shaped pockets with islands.

There is no limit to the complexity of the island or boundary shapes. There is no limit to the number of segments within a contour and no limit to the number of islands within a boundary.

Defining contours for boundaries and islands is quick and easy to do using Hurco's conversational programming with the AutoCalculation programming feature. AutoCalculation automatically calculates unknown geometry that is often not called out on a print. AutoCalculation calculates data forwards and backwards within the program. It will automatically calculate unknown geometry for all segments in the contour no matter which segment you are editing within the contour.

The helical plunge feature is included with the UltiPocket option. All you have to provide is the slope and radius of the helical plunge and the control will generate a helical ramp into the pocket. The helical plunge feature also applies for all plunge moves into the stock including simple contours, 3D mould features or any type of plunge move.
